What Does Your Life Consist of?

Luke 12:15
[15]And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

If a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses, the following question would be “what then does life consist of”?
All of man’s possessions can fit into a box, or packed in a warehouse if he has plenty possessions. This is seen when he dies. They could be summarized in a paper by a lawyer as written in his will and shared amongst people. In some dramatic cases, the relatives even fight with one another over the dead man’s fortunes.

Even when a man is still alive, his possessions could still be taken away from him for certain reasons. He could lose his assets or go bankrupt.

However, where any of these instances might not always be the case, there’s something that is most substantial that our lives must consist of. That is LIFE itself. Bible says that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. This life is God’s Life – Zoe. It is abundant. This is what Jesus came to give us (John 10:10). It is the life that releases joy unspeakable, peace in the midst of storm, love overflowing, all shared with our neighbors and brethren. This is our greatest possession that no man can take away from us, even if we lose all earthly possessions.
This is what my life consists of. Glory!
