Did you know? Studies have shown that recipients of a blood transfusion can possess the DNA of the donor for a period of time, and in some cases, a longer period of time. It is amazing and strange at the same time how the human body accommodates this.
Some people have been asking “how come there are so many churches in the world with large crowds, but the world doesn’t seem to be better? Are the people in church different from the ones at the marketplace, schools, offices, homes, etc.?”
In response to this, some people say that the problem is that most people in church are there because of a need that needs to be met, and I cannot agree less. They need healing, deliverance of all sorts, power, money, marriage, and the list goes on. People even get born again to know if their lives will get better. Also, the pastors or preachers seem to prepare messages and programs that address all these, and you cannot blame them. They are right. People need help in a fallen world like ours.
However, some messages are centered on character building and maturity in Christ. Still, the people hear this, and we may only see little or no change, because there’s a preconceived mindset towards God – the One who must meet my need. Even when we praise Him, deep down, we’re hoping that God will see the praise and do something wonderful for us.
But there is the place of living a God-fashioned life. It is an entirely new way of life. It is a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you. When we got born again, we received the Spirit and life of God. The DNA of God was deposited in us and it dominates our original DNA that had the old man with its lusts. Thank God this DNA is not only present for a while, it persists throughout our lifetime.
How Can We Live the God-Fashioned Life?
- We must let Him! Yes, we must let God reproduce His character in us. We just need to align ourselves and be continually yielding.
- Remember, it’s an entirely new way of life. Therefore, we must constantly renew our minds through the Word to accommodate what God is doing in us, in order to act it out.
- Consequently, we must stop lying to each other or hurting ourselves, and practice walking in love, giving no place to harsh words and anger. The list is endless, because the Life itself endless.
In a loveless and selfish society, we believers must shine the light of God’s Life, one person at a time!
