Ponder on His Works – They are Great!

How are bones formed in the womb of a pregnant woman?

How can a human come out of another human?

What truly makes a tree grow out from the soil after a seed is planted?

How do the leaves of a tree change color during the Spring and Fall seasons?

What exactly is keeping this world standing?

How do stars appear in the sky and disappear later?

How are rivers connected? Where is the source?

What causes rainfall, and why does it rain somewhere at a time, and not everywhere?

How is it possible that just by believing and confessing the Lord Jesus, we are saved from our sins?

Many questions come to mind when we think of the works of God. Science might have seemingly ‘answered’ some of these questions, but I tell you, we do not know all the acts of God. Ecclesiastes 11:5 “Just as you do not know the way and path of the wind or how the bones are formed in the womb of a pregnant woman, even so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things”. We know who made them, but we do not know the nitty-gritty of those activities. His wisdom is infinite.

Bible tells us that when we delight in God’s works, we ponder on them. Psalm 111:2 “Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them”. Most people forget to ponder/contemplate/study/consider/think about God’s works. Sometimes, these works have become too normal for us that we do not think about them. Even how He keeps us alive, delivers us, watches over us, provides for us, are all works that should be pondered on.

Reasons to ponder on God’s works.

  • We may not know how He did them all, but it keeps us in a state of worship and awe of God.
  • It makes us remember Him always. Sometimes, due to busyness and situations of life, most people don’t think about God all the time. This is a great way to keep Him in our thoughts.
  • From His works, we know that God is ever faithful, just, and trustworthy.
  • Since His works are established forever and ever, we know that whatever He does in our lives stands. He doesn’t perform them shabbily and haphazardly. The things He set in place from the foundation of the world are still in place. Therefore, His works in my life and yours shall stand in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
  • For those who do not believe in God, these works give them something to think deeply about and finally come to the realization that there is a God who made the heaven and earth, including man; this God loves them too and He’s reaching out His arms to them. Accept His love today.
